AI Prefill Questionnaire

The AI Prefill feature helps you start filling a FAIR Wizard questionnaire from an existing document. Upload a document, preferably a data management plan (DMP), and FAIR Wizard will try to find matching questions and prefill relevant answers.

This is useful when you already have project documentation and want to reuse it instead of filling the questionnaire from scratch.

What It Does

AI Prefill analyzes your uploaded materials and tries to match their content to questions in the current questionnaire.

Typical use cases include:

  • pre-filling a questionnaire from an existing DMP,

  • reusing information from project documentation,

  • speeding up the first draft of questionnaire answers.

The prefill is meant to help you get started. After it finishes, review the suggested answers and adjust them where needed.

How to Use It

  1. Open the project you want to work on.

  2. Go to the Questionnaire tab.

  3. Open Actions.

  4. Select Prefill Questionnaire.

  5. Upload one or more files:

    • click Choose Files, or

    • drag and drop files into the upload area.

  6. Click Prefill.

FAIR Wizard will then analyze the uploaded materials and try to prefill questionnaire answers.

What Happens Next

After you start the prefill:

  • the uploaded materials are analyzed by AI,

  • FAIR Wizard tries to match document content to questionnaire questions,

  • the process may take several minutes,

  • you will be notified by email once it is complete.

When the process finishes, return to the questionnaire and review the prefilled answers.

Best Results

For the best results:

  • use a document that contains detailed project information,

  • use a DMP when available,

  • upload clear, well-structured documents,

  • review all suggested answers before relying on them.

The more closely your document matches the information requested in the questionnaire, the better the prefill is likely to work.

Good to Know

AI Prefill helps with finding likely matches between your uploaded materials and questionnaire questions, but it does not replace human review.

You should always:

  • check whether the suggested answers are correct,

  • complete unanswered questions manually,

  • adjust wording where necessary,

  • make sure the final questionnaire reflects your project accurately.
